On August 9th, 2008, Vancouver BC, the 2008 Fitness & Figure Championships took place at the Massey Theatre in Westminster. Jean & I flew on Thursday, Aug 7th and came home on Monday, Aug 11th. We enjoyed this experience but decided that with my structure and tiny frame, I would not be capable of competing against the more muscular and wider girls that were on stage. Instead...rather, I chose to retire from Figure and promote Figure Workshops to help and assist other girls in contest prep, diets, training and advice. I also co-promote with my husband Jean, the Atlantic Classic 2009 Fitness & Figure Championships to be held on April 11th, 2009.

Fall Figure Competitor Workshop
Information Packet

“Hi” and thank you for choosing our Figure Competitor Workshop! This event will be full of excitement and valuable information for you to take home and implement into your contest prep. The following topics will be discussed in detail:

Posing & Presentation
This will be a live, working session lasting approximately 60 minutes. Individual presentation, group posing/quarter turns, and walking will be assessed, critiqued, and improvised.

Stoning your Suit & Costume Selection
We will discuss how to stone a bathing suit with demonstration and how to choose a cut and color for your body type, what to look for and avoid, how to “fit” your suit and how to properly wear it for your show. We will also introduce MONAVIS Custom Suit Designer for tips and samples of her work.

Hair & Jewelry Selection
We will discuss how to choose a flattering hairstyle and how to choose complimentary jewelry for each round of competition.

Make-up
How to choose and apply make-up properly for onstage.

Training & Nutrition
Weight training, cardio, nutrition and more will be discussed as we talk about how your training and diet will change in prep for competition.

Goal Setting & Staying Motivated
Figure Coordinators will promote and discuss proper ways of goal setting to stay on track the last two weeks before your show and methods of staying motivated.

Tanning
We will talk about attaining a base tan, what tanning products to use and how they differ, how and when to use them, and how to apply dream tan.

What to Bring
Posing suit, swimsuit, OR sports bra/spandex shorts
Track Suit, Sneakers & Socks
High Heels (3 ½” – 5 ½” in height)
Water Bottle

What We’ll Provide
In addition to the invaluable competition advice and experience you’ll receive, we will offer an information booklet, lunch, DVD Presentation and Track Practice which will be included in the registration cost. **If your suits are ready, you can bring them with you of you wish. We do not recommend the girls wearing their competition suits at this workshop. This takes away from the element of "surprise". You may bring them to show our figure coordinators in private to critique the style, cut, color or size if you feel comfortable.

Hi everybody: I'm ready to rock.....for the first time, I'm organized! Imagine that???

Had photoshoot today at Crandalls Studio, had a ball....it was so much fun! Just wait 'til you see "I love Sydney Crosby" pics....Stay tuned ....

Well I'm 10____ can you guess the 3rd digit? I'm prepared and mentally ready...I'm dehydrated a bit, up to 8 litres today of water...wow....but it's all coming out!

Well, next time you'll see me is on the stage...I'll send pics next week to my site.

1 Week to GO!!!

Hi, Only 1 more week to go.....I feel tired and drained.....but I think I'm still on track. I seem to be more mentally prepared for this show, compared to my last 4 shows....This is the BIG ONE!

Each day starting today is critical....I will achieve my goal, I have more confidence in myself than ever before.....just watch the DVD "The Secret".....If you think negative thoughts about yourself, you will fail.....If you think positive and believe you are capable of doing much more than you realize in your life, you WILL SUCCEED!

See you next weekend, keep training hard everyone, stay focused and looking forward to seeing you all!
